NinjaTrader 8 vs TradingView for Futures Automation

2026-02-22 · 8 min read

TradingView wins on speed of iteration. NinjaTrader wins on execution and order types.

If you trade futures and you’re not using NT8, you’re leaving fills on the table — period.

But Pine Script is faster to prototype in. I write the idea in Pine first, then port to NinjaScript only when it’s ready to live trade.

Cost matters too. NT8 lifetime + Rithmic feed will run you ~$1,400. TradingView Premium is $60/month.

My rule: prototype on TradingView, live-trade futures on NinjaTrader 8.

I take a limited number of new builds each month.
